“We sit down under the trees to an ideal lunch of artisan cheeses, freshly baked bread, sun-warmed tomatoes…. Kay adds simple touches to a meal with the ease of a natural cook…. Her cooking tradition goes back at least a generation. ‘In my family we cooked dinner every night, we raised our own vegetables, and we drank our own wine.'”

The Experience
Together Kay and Clay have built a winery that reflects the finest attributes of Washington wines. Original farm buildings house the winery, barrel storage, and tasting room and a shaded lawn serves as a picnic area. Bounded by a Cabernet Franc vineyard along with apple and cherry orchards, the winery is a favorite stop on the well-traveled Yakima Valley tasting trail. Life here is one of rural simplicity- enjoying the fruit of one’s labors. We invite you to experience this personally, and in the meantime we’d like to share some of the things that lend to the Chinook experience... Chinook Wines Photo Album

2007 CABERNET FRANC RELEASE at Chinook Wines
March 7th & 8th 12 PM - 5 PM
For over 15 years, Chinook has produced a Cabernet Franc from our estate vineyard and selected growers' fruit in the Yakima Valley. The soft-styled, aromatic wine has become a favorite in the Northwest, much to our delight. However, over the past few years we've sold out quickly, leaving many without a bottle. To counter that this year, we are hosting a CABERNET FRANC "PICK-ME-UP" PARTY! We'll take small groups on vineyard & pruning tours and share tank samples of rosé. Tastes of Franc-friendly foods will help round out the party for those up for celebrating a day of all things Cab Franc! RSVPs appreciated, but not required. FREE. 509.786.2725 or info@chinookwines.com
